About me

I am an aspiring undergraduate researcher from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur interested in AI, Robotics, and IoT. As the Project Lead for Steel Eye, I developed a real-time ladle tracking system for steel plants and led a team to the national finals of the Smart India Hackathon 2023. I've contributed to research with publications in areas like Entity Augmentation in Vertical Federated Learning and Data Compression for the Constrained Web of Things.

I am an enterprising engineer with a strong passion for continuous learning. I actively explore emerging technologies by reading research papers, and blogs, and staying updated on advancements in IoT, reinforcement learning, robotics, computer vision, and brain-computer interfaces (BCI). My drive to learn and adapt enables me to bring innovative solutions to the projects I lead and collaborate on.

Charpak Lab Scholar

May 2024 - Present

Laboratoire Hubert Curien, Universite Jean Monnet

  • Have been awarded the prestigious Charapak Lab Scholarship by the French Insititute in India (IFI) for the internship
  • Worked on the Constrained Semantic Web of Things project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR)
  • Engineered a State-of-the-art compression algorithm for JSON-LD data that provides savings of up to 95.1% in terms of network overhead
  • Developed a Python library to facilitate efficient encoding and decoding of JSON-LD data using our novel compression algorithm

Mechatronics and Vision Team Lead

Autonomous Ground Vehicle Research Group

  • Engineered a novel entity augmentation technique for Vertical Federated Learning (VFL) without requiring explicit entity alignment
  • Our technique achieved 69.5% accuracy on the CIFAR10 dataset with 5% entity alignment, notably outperforming traditional VFL methods


Project Lead, Steel Eye - Real-Time Ladle Tracking System for Steel Plants

Jan 2024 - Present

Smart Wireless Applications & Networking (SWAN) Lab, IIT Kharagpur

  • Built an end-to-end Ladle Tracking System that automates ladle number detection in steel plants using a fine-tuned YOLOv8 model
  • Developed a FastAPI web application integrated with a MySQL database, offering real-time analytics and insights to industry personnel
  • Have been awarded the AI4ICPS Chanakya Fellowship for the project
  • Leading the development of a wireless mesh network using multiple Raspberry Pi devices to build a distributed edge computing cluster

  • Executed a pivotal role in the CubeSat design and overseeing sensor-related tests as a member of the Electrical Subsystem
